Why use a wiki?
Wikis promote collaborative writing by allowing multiple users to edit any page, with full freedom to edit, change and delete the work of previous authors.Wikis maintain a history of all revisions to each page, including who made what changes. All visitors can be collaborators, or access to edit the wiki can be limited to approved users. Wikis are a great online tool for ongoing or long-term projects!

Not only are wikis 21st century teaching and learning tools, they also complement the Common Core State Standards goals and anchor standards. For example: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.W.6 Use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing and to interact and collaborate with others.
